Worship
We at ETBC-I desire to practice true Worship!
John 4:23-24 “But an hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth. Yes, the Father wants such people to worship Him. 24 God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
We wish to express heartfelt worship by singing songs of praise that is based on biblical truth. Our desire and focus is our Lord who alone is worthy of praise. Worship is not for entertaining the audience, but a means to focus on who God is. Hence, when we work through our song selections, we carefully examine the lyrics to see if they are in accord with the truth of God’s word. This is our first and foremost criteria. Everything else is secondary. Once that is established, we can focus on the Lord with our hearts in song. This desire to worship in spirit (a heart that has been renewed by God and therefore indwelt by the Holy Spirit) and truth of God’s word is what moves us to play what we play on any given Sunday. However, nowadays worship music has become somewhat of an industry. And as such songs are being made all over the world and in different places by different people and different churches and groups. This means that while we may sing or play a particular praise song because the lyrics are biblically accurate, we do not necessarily endorse or recommend any particular person (artist or pastor), group, or church that it originated from. We simply wish to glorify God and help edify our church by singing songs that are biblically accurate.
